Just sign and fill in the information on the last page of the proposal where it asks for your name, address, and date. Then either e-mail: sidinggurus@northwestsiding.com, mail: 608 Startouch Dr. Eugene, OR 97405, or fax: (541) 344-0384 it back into us. We will then follow up with a call to set up a start time and answer any additional questions you may have.

How long does a typical job take?

The siding portion of a project typically takes about a week depending on the size of the house. We usually wait a week in between the completion of the siding and the painting to allow time for the caulking to cure. Painting usually takes two days depending on the size of the house. All the above is also contingent on weather.

What type of nails do you use?

We use stainless fasteners for all of our siding applications. A pneumatic nail gun is used to install the nails.
What kind of warranty does my new siding come with?
Northwest Siding Contractors of Eugene, Inc. guarantees its workmanship for Three Years from the date of installation. Most James Hardie® Siding Products come with a 30 Year Non-Prorated Warranty. All other products are covered by the manufactures warranty.

Do you accept Visa and MasterCard for payment?

Yes. We gladly accept Visa and MasterCard.

If I am selling my house can I pay through escrow?

Yes. We have many siding projects that are paid through escrow. Just call us prior to the job start to work out the arrangements.

Once you choose the colors you want, give our office a call and let us know what they are and we will write them down in your file.

Is removing all my siding necessary?

It is not always necessary to remove the existing siding. This can sometimes save on the cost of your reside. It you have T-1-11 or a flat siding system currently installed, we may be able to go over the top of the existing siding. It is very important to us that we are not covering up a defective type of siding or one that has existing problems (for example: LP siding, Dry Rot, Buckling….). Our project manager can walk around your home and discuss these options with you at that time. If you have traditional lap siding, it is very likely it will need to be removed first.

Are your estimates free and how long are they valid?

Estimates are free and valid for 30 days. If your proposal is older than 30 days, it is best to call us and ask if it is necessary to obtain a new estimate. Often an estimate will be good past 30 days, but this depends primarily on the material cost.

How do maintain my new James Hardie® Siding?

Water Management and Gutters:

Whether you live in an area with high amounts of rainfall or an occasional thunderstorm, it is important to effectively manage the flow of water from these events for your entire home.

  • Clean out your gutters, blocked pipes, and overflows as required.

Cleaning and Maintenance:

Cleaning and maintaining the exterior of your home is an important part of sustaining the beauty and value of your home. The extent and nature of maintenance will depend on the geographic location and exposure of the building. As a guide, it is recommended that normal care and maintenance tasks shall include but not be limited to:

  • Washing down the exterior surfaces every 6 to 12 months with a garden hose or low pressure water spray to remove dirt and debris.- James Hardie Products with ColorPlus® Technology can be cleaned using water and a soft brush or rag. For stubborn dirt or stains, a mild detergent and a soft brush may be used.
    – For paint applied in the field, refer to your paint manufacturer for washing and maintenance requirements related to paint performance.High Pressure water blasts (e.g. pressure washers and sand blasting) will damage the surface of fiber-cement. James Hardie does not recommend these methods of cleaning. Low pressure water sprayers or a soft brush are more suitable for cleaning fiber cement products.
  • It is important to re-apply caulking when it has begun to show signs of wear. This can help keep moisture from getting into the wall cavity. These areas include but are not limited to penetrations, flashings, plank and trim connections and in some cases between plank joints.- James Hardie recommends the use of caulks and sealants that remain permanently flexible.Look for the words “permanently flexible” written clearly on the label or in the accompanying literature. For best results use an Elastomeric Joint Sealant complying with ASTM C920 Grade NS, Class 25 or higher, or a Latex Joint Sealant complying with ASTM C834. Caulking/sealant must be applied in accordance with the caulking/sealant manufacturer’s written instructions or ASTM C1193.
  • It is a good practice to keep vegetation such as shrubs, bushes, and small trees trimmed back and away from the home and siding (Approximately 24″). This will also help to ensure that sprinkler systems do not saturate areas near the building.
  • Ensure required external ground clearances (typically 6″) and drainage slopes are maintained. Do not in fill landscaping up to the siding.
